Card Rankings:

In President, the card rankings are as follows:

  • Cards rank in the standard order from 3 (lowest) to 2 (highest). The Ace is considered a high-ranking card and is ranked higher than the King.

Gameplay:

  1. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing a card or a set of cards with the same rank.
  2. The next player in turn must play a higher-ranked card or set of cards than the previous player. Alternatively, they can pass if they cannot or do not want to play a higher-ranked card.
  3. Play continues clockwise, with each player trying to play a higher-ranked card or set of cards. Players who pass in a round are skipped until the next round.
  4. If all players consecutively pass, the player who played the last set of cards starts a new round by playing any card or set of cards they choose.
  5. The round ends when all players pass except for the last player who successfully played cards.
  6. The player who played the highest-ranking card(s) in the round becomes the President for the next round. The player who played the lowest-ranking card(s) becomes the Scum.
  7. The President receives the best cards from the Scum, and the President gives their lowest-ranking cards to the Scum. This card exchange occurs before the next round begins.
  8. The President starts the next round by playing any card or set of cards they choose.
  9. The game continues with players trying to get rid of all their cards to become the President in each round. The last player to get rid of their cards becomes the Scum for the next round.

Scoring:

  • Typically, President is played over several rounds, and players receive points based on their finishing position in each round. The President scores the fewest points, and the Scum scores the most points.
  • The game can be played until a predetermined number of rounds or until a player reaches a target score.

Tips:

  • Keep track of the cards played by other players to gauge the strength of their hands.
  • Try to strategize and save higher-ranking cards for later rounds when the competition becomes tougher.
  • Play your cards wisely, as successfully playing a high-ranking card can give you an advantage in future rounds.
  • Pay attention to the cards received from the Scum as the President, as they can significantly impact your chances of success in the following round.

President is an engaging and dynamic card game that combines strategy and luck. With this guide, you’re ready to start playing and strive to become the President while avoiding the Scum!
